Hopefully you are enjoying the hockey season. We are delighted with the progress of all our students and look forward to our final two months of our season. If only we could report the same for our Leafs!

Two important dates for you:

1.   Pre-Registration for the 2015/2016 season will be held on February 22 and March 8 in the Ted Reeve Arena snack bar starting at 12:00. Our Skate 1 session fills up quickly, so don’t be disappointed.

2.  Our final day of classes for the 2013/2014 season is Sunday, March 29, 1:00pm to 3:00pm, where we will finish the season with some friendly shinny (all sessions bring sticks).

You may have heard about the tragic passing of our long-time Registrar, Brenda Clements. In her memory, the School has made a donation to the Jumpstart Charity. She gave many, many hours of her life to children’s sports programming, including her children, grandchildren, and her community, and we thought she would like this. Brenda always wanted to set-up an arrangement whereby parents registering for our Ted Reeve Programming would be asked if they would like to make a donation to Jumpstart. Thus, at our registration desk this year, please consider even a small donation in memory of our Brenda.

For those of you not familiar with Jumpstart, they work to get kids in the game by assisting with the costs associated with registration, equipment and/or transportation for sports and physical activity programming. See their website here.

Secondly, we need volunteers. All instructors and directors of Ted Reeve Arena Skating Hockey School Inc. are volunteers, and the ability of the School to continue is wholly dependent on their generosity and availability.

For the 2015-2016 season, we are looking for additional volunteers to help with the Skate 1, Skate 2 and Skate 2/Hockey sessions. Coaching experience and certification are helpful, but not required. Patience, commitment and a positive attitude, however, are essential. We also are looking for administrative help at the desk with the major registration dates in the Spring and Fall.
