Ted Reeve Arena Skating-Hockey School: Week 3 Reminders & Info

Hello to our Ted Reeve Arena Skating-Hockey School Families!

Our first two weeks, usually the most frantic, are behind us. Congratulations! If your skater is still feeling anxious, please stick with it—we promise it will get easier.

If you registered in the Spring but haven’t yet made it out on Sunday, please check in with us to get a registration sticker for your child’s helmet and a jersey! We have Youth Large, Medium, and Small sizes available. If we don’t have a size large enough, please email us, and we’ll look into ordering a few Adult Small or Medium sizes so no one is left out.

A few important notes to share: the most important pieces of equipment are skates and helmets, and they must fit properly. Please avoid plastic boot-style skates, as they don’t provide a good fit or flexibility, making it harder for your child to build skating skills. Secondly, don’t forget your neck guards—it might help to loop them through the face mask of your child’s helmet when undressing, so they’re easy to find for the next session.

All sessions (SK1, SK2, and SK2/H) are now at capacity, and registration is closed. Over the next three sessions (up to Thanksgiving), we will assess students in SK1 for promotion. If placements become available, we will post notices on our website and Facebook page. While we’ll do our best to contact families who have inquired about additional placements, please email us in the second week of October, when we’ll know more. Please note that we do not run a waitlist.

Our season runs every Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. through Sunday, March 30, 2025, except for the following dates:

  • October 13, 2024 (Thanksgiving)
  • December 29, 2024, and January 5, 2025 (Christmas)
  • February 16, 2025 (Family Day)

If you have any questions, please check our website for more information. See you tomorrow!
