Christmas Season Schedule and Registration for September/2020 to March/2021 Season

Happy December Hockey fans,

We hope everyone has enjoyed the first 12 weeks of programming and are pleased with your child’s progress.

The last Sunday of skating and hockey programs for 2019 is Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the usual times.  We will be playing some friendly shinny with all groups, so bring a stick if you have one.  We have some loaners in our locker if you need one.

There will be no classes on Sunday December 29, 2019 and Sunday, January 5, 2020.  We return at 1:00pm on January 12, 2020.

Session Space

We remain at capacity and registration will remain closed for the rest of the 2019 calendar year.  We continue to work to “graduate” our Skate 1 students into Skate 2 to balance our groups and will reassess capacity after the Christmas break.   Check our website or follow us on Facebook for news in January.

2020-2021 Registration

We have scheduled one Registration session for the September/2020 to March/2021 season for Sunday, March 1, 2020, starting at noon in the front area of Ted Reeve Community Arena. Please note it is not in the snack bar as it has been previously, we will be in the front lobby entrance off Main Street.

As you may know, our spaces fill up quickly, particularly in Skate 1, so we strongly encourage you to come early and register on March 1 to secure a spot.  Placements will accepted be first-come-first-served basis until we reach capacity.  Cash or cheque accepted.

Students in Skate 1 must be age 5 as of December 31, 2020 (born 2015 or earlier) to be accepted.  If your student is not already registered in the program this year, please bring proof of age.

Please take note of our new refund policy for all registrations.  We are a not-for-profit, volunteer-led organization and need to minimize our administrative challenges.  Refunds of 50% of registration fees will be accepted up to October 11, 2020.  No refunds will be made after Thanksgiving weekend, October 11, 2020.

Eligibility for Skate 2 and Skate 2/Hockey requires developed skating skills including: balance & fall recovery, left and right leg stride and glide, inside and outside edge control, backwards skating, forward and backward “C” cuts, and fundamental parallel stopping skills (i.e. no “snow plow” stops).   Full equipment is required for all sessions.

Happy Christmas Season everyone!
